There is considerable amount of data in the fight against HIV/AIDS: monitoring and epidemic evaluation indices obtained by AIDS Centres, special bio-behavioural research data, the bases of NGOs working with risk groups etc. At the same time, there is a significant gap between the data available and their use for the evaluation, realisation and improvement of the corresponding measures. At present, in order to overcome this gap it is quite effective to apply new approaches to working with the data on the base of modern international experience. One of these approaches is triangulation aimed at the synthesis from various data sources.

Triangulation method enables to solve the following issues: HIV incidence tendency research, monitoring and evaluation of prevention and treatment programmes, optimum resource, prevention and treatment distribution, topic direction of public education and political propaganda mobilisation on HIV/AIDS.

In the course of the webinar we will demonstrate how to cross-reference and interpret data on fighting HIV/ADS correctly, which tools are to be used, how to involve various concerned parties in the triangulation. We will examine the results of regional triangulation projects in Ukraine, carried out with support of ICF “International HIV/AIDS Alliance in Ukraine”.
